Masterblaster, Glen Tanar: Evening Trail Session 21st August 2019

Please join us for a summer evening trail work session on the 21st August at the brilliant Masterblaster trail on the beautiful Glen Tanar Estate, near Aboyne, Aberdeenshire.

Meeting at 6:30pm at a small forest entrance off the B976.  To find this location, please drive west on the South Deeside Road from Aboyne towards Glen Tanar estate.  On your left, after a few hundred metres, we shall install our green ATA feather flags so you know you have arrived.

A short session is required to attend to a piece of poor trail drainage so we aim to be finished at 9:00pm. All you require is stout boots, appropriate clothing for the weather conditions, and sometimes midge repellent is useful at this location.

This should be a really good session, topping off some final work to this trail before winter. We would love to have you along, especially if you have never done any trail work before this is a good chance to be involved before the end of the summer. All work is endorsed by the ATA's existing relationship with Glen Tanar Estate.

Please follow this link to let us know that you wish to attend. We shall send a final instructions email out to all attendees just prior to the event.

August 3rd: Pitfichie Greenhill Trail Session

Following a hugely successful Scottish Enduro Series Race at Pitfichie last weekend, where the feedback on trail durability and quality through scorching temperatures and torrential rain was very positive, we have decided to do one more session on the Greenhill DH line in order to repair race wear and tear, attend to any areas where cheeky shortcuts may have appeared, and tackle the trail feature and corners immediately after the heather.

Meeting at the Whitehills Carpark at 9:30am please bring stout footwear, clothing appropriate for the weather, some fluids and food for a wee lunch break; we aim to be finished by 14:30. You don’t need to bring your own tools. We will send a final instructions email out on the Friday afternoon before the Saturday Session.

Follow this link to let us know you wish to be a part of this session! Good times, laughs and positive trail results are guaranteed!

Wednesday 17th July Evening Session: Resurrection, Pitfichie - a water problem!

Situated on the Pitfichie Downhill Trails, ‘Resurrection’ also known as ‘Steeps’, or Stage 5 on the Scottish Enduro Series race network, is a fantastic natural line providing some of the most challenging riding the area has to offer.

The ATA tackled some basic maintenance of the bottom section of this trail last year. Drainage, snag removal and clearing crash zones of debris. HOWEVER! There remains a watery issue at the upper section of this trail. If you’ve ridden it, then you know the section we are describing!

Here is the plan! The ATA would like to target this section and commit to installing/creating some proper drains so that the riding line begins to dry out and reach its full potential. If you would like to be part of this special bit of trail work, please sign up using this link!

All you need is some stout footwear, some fluids and maybe something to eat. The ATA supply tools, safety gloves and hi vis vest. Meeting at the Pitfichie DH Car park at 6:15pm, we will provide a safety brief before heading up the hill.  We aim to be finished and off the hill by 9:15. It should be a great fun session!

A final instructions email will be sent prior to the event and we look forward to seeing you there!
